How It Happened

READING, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley women's ice hockey team were unable to crack the Alvernia defense as they were held scoreless in a 1-0 defeat at the hands of the Golden Wolves on Friday night. LVC falls to 0-2-1 while Alvernia is now 1-0-0 after their season-opening win.

Picking action up in the second period, the game still scoreless, LVC would go on the powerplay in the first two minutes of the period. The Golden Wolves would hold defensively, as they did throughout the game, and held LVC to just one shot on the powerplay while firing off three of their own. Later in the period, Alvernia would go on their first powerplay of the contest at the 11:24 mark. Just six seconds into the advantage, Shae Hudec would find the back of the net to give Alvernia a 1-0 lead.

The score would hold at 1-0 for the remainder of the second period and the entire third as the Dutchmen offense, which was potent in the first two games of the season, was shutout as they fell 1-0.

Inside The Numbers
