PITTSTON, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley Women's Ice Hockey team shutout King's for the second straight day and a pair of goals by
Jess Dawe lifted the Dutchmen to a 2-0 win on Saturday afternoon. LVC improves to 4-6, 3-5 UCHC on the year while King's falls to 0-10, 0-8 UCHC.
How It Happened
- The two defenses would rule the opening period as neither team could get on the board and the game went into the first intermission scoreless.
- Just after the midway point of the second frame, Jess Dawe would find the back of the net to put the Dutchmen ahead 1-0. LVC controlled the second period as they outshot the Monarchs 16-6 for the period but were unable to add any more goals in the second and would lead by just one with one period remaining.
- A majority of the final stanza was played scoreless in a defensive struggle. The Monarchs would have two power-play chances and LVC would have one in the third but neither could take advantage as the score remained just 1-0 in favor of the Dutchmen towards the end of regulation. With 1:50 to play, Dawe would add a big insurance goal for LVC and they would win by that 2-0 score.

- Jess Dawe netted her first two career goals in the win.
- Olivia Magneson recorded both her first win and her first shutout in her career.
- Olivia Cindrich and Cheyenne Wilk both tallied assists for LVC.
- LVC outshot the Monarchs 39-22. They also held a 42-20 advantage in the faceoff circle.
Who's Next?
The Dutchmen are off until 2022 when they open up the new year with a home matchup against Morrisville State on Monday, Jan. 3. Game time is slated for 7 p.m. in Hersheypark Arena.
