ANNVILLE, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley Women's Basketball team couldn't get their offense going in the first half against Misericordia as the Dutchmen dropped their home opener 63-37 at the hands of the Cougars on Tuesday evening. The Dutchmen now sit at 1-1 while the Cougars improve to 1-0.

How It Happened
  • The opening quarter was played close throughout with neither team able to find much success on the offensive end of the floor. Misericordia was able to hit a few more shots than LVC in the first and led 13-8 after one period.
  • The Dutchmen offense would go ice cold in the second quarter as they only managed four points for the entire quarter while the Cougars dropped 16 to push their lead out to 17 at halftime. LVC only made on field goal in the second quarter, that coming with five seconds left on a Chardae Stone layup in transition.
  • In the second half, the Dutchmen offense had some better flow to it but couldn't cut into the Cougar lead and Misericordia would down LVC 63-37.
Inside The Numbers
  • Kate Fitzpatrick led the Dutchmen with seven points. Kennedy Kuffa and Daelyn Stabler chipped in with six apiece.
  • Kuffa grabbed 10 rebounds to lead all players.
  • Melina Santacroce and Meaghan McCaffrey led the Cougars in scoring as each poured in 10 for Misericordia.
  • The Cougars shot 34.8% from the floor while LVC finished at 25.5%.
  • Misericordia took advantage of second-chance points as they finished with 21 while the Dutchmen only had three for the contest.
Who's Next?
The Dutchmen return to action this weekend during the annual Rinso Marquette Tournament. LVC will take on Penn State Schuylkill in the first semifinal game on Saturday with a tip scheduled for 5 p.m. in Sorrentino Gymnasium.
