Lebanon Valley 1. Alvernia 0
ANNVILLE, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley Women's Ice Hockey squad picked up a 1-0 shutout victory over Alvernia in the team's UCHC and MAC opener on Friday night. LVC improves to 2-1, 1-0 UCHC on the season while the Golden Wolves drop to 0-3, 0-1 UCHC.

How It Happened
  • The first period was a penalty-filled opening 20 minutes but neither team was able to capitalize on multiple power play chances as the teams went back into the dressing room scoreless after 20 minutes. The two sides combined for five penalties in the first period.
  • At the 4:27 mark of the second period, Alexis Oukes would find the stick of Cheyenne Wilk on a stretch pass through the neutral zone and Wilk would convert the breakaway chance as she beat the Alvernia goaltender to put LVC ahead 1-0. The score would remain 1-0 in favor of the Dutchmen at the second intermission.
  • In the third period, the Golden Wolves had multiple dangerous scoring opportunities including a multitude of chances towards the end of regulation. LVC's Shelby Guinard would hold strong in between the pipes and held Alvernia scoreless despite the onslaught of shots faces in the final minutes as LVC topped Alvernia 1-0.
