READING, Pa. – A pair of first period goals by Alvernia was enough to down the Lebanon Valley Women's Ice Hockey team 2-0 in UCHC and MAC action on Saturday evening. The Dutchmen fall to 2-2, 1-1 UCHC while the Golden Wolves improve to 1-3, 1-1 UCHC.
How It Happened
- The Golden Wolves would grab the lead quickly in the opening period when Tegan Pentek found nylon just 4:05 into the contest. Just under nine minutes later, Alvernia would double their lead as they took advantage of a power play chance. LVC would trail 2-0 headed into the first intermission.
- The final two periods were defensive struggles with neither team able to find the back of the net for the final 47:09 of the contest and the Dutchmen would fall 2-0.
Inside The Numbers
- LVC went 0-for-2 on power play chances while the Golden Wolves scored on one of their five power play opportunities.
- Alvernia held a slim 30-29 shot advantage for the contest.
- The Golden Wolves blocked 12 shots while the Dutchmen finished with eight blocks.
- Olivia Magneson finished with 28 saves in net for the Dutchmen.

The Dutchmen return to the ice next Friday night when they travel to take on Manhattanville College in UCHC action. Puck drop in Rye, N.Y. is scheduled for 7 p.m.
