ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley Women's Basketball team dropped a defensive battle 57-48 at Elizabethtown College on Tuesday evening. The Dutchmen drop to 4-3 with the loss while the Blue Jays improve to 5-0.

How It Happened
  • After Cassiah Ray knocked down a three-pointer to start the game, Elizabethtown would go on a 13-2 run to give the Jays an eight-point led around the midway point of the opening quarter. The Blue Jays hot shooting would continue throughout the quarter and they would maintain their eight-point advantage at 21-13 after one.
  • Neither offense could find any rhythm in the second quarter as the two sides combined for just 10 points. LVC made just one of their 12 shot attempts while E-Town went 2-for-12 on their own in the second frame and the Dutchmen would face a 28-16 deficit at the half.
  • The Blue Jays would start to put some more distance between them and the Dutchmen and would outscore LVC 17-10 in the period putting LVC in a big 45-26 hole with just one period remaining.
  • The Dutchmen offense finally got things going in the final period, shooting 40%, their highest of the game, and outscored E-Town 22-12 for the quarter. The late rally was not enough for the Dutchmen to overcome their deficit entering the fourth as LVC would fall 57-48.
Inside The Numbers
  • Daelyn Stabler led LVC with 12 points. Kennedy Kuffa and Cassiah Ray also ended in double figures with 11 and 10 points respectively. Kuffa also added 10 rebounds for a double-double.
  • E-Town's Veronica Christ led all players with 17 points.
  • Neither team shot exceptionally well from the floor, both finishing at 32% for the game.
  • The Blue Jays held a 47-39 rebound advantage over LVC.
  • LVC attempted just nine free throws compared to 24 free throws for the Jays.
