ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley Men's Basketball team's defense shutdown Elizabehtown on Tuesday night as the Dutchmen topped the Blue Jays 70-54. The Dutchmen improve to 3-3 on the year while the Blue Jays fall to 3-3.

400 Club
Head Coach Brad McAlester joined an elite company with the win tonight against the Blue Jays as McAlester has reached the 400-win milestone in his career. He joins just a handful of coaches who have reached 400 career victories at a single institution.

How It Happened
  • The Dutchmen would fall behind early in the opening half as the offense struggled to get going early, trailing Elizabethtown 8-5. This is where LVC would rattle off 10 straight points, including back-to-back threes by Ryan Harder, to flip the script and grab a 15-8 lead with just over 11 minutes to go before half.
  • The two teams would trade buckets for the remainder of the first half but the Dutchmen would never relinquish their lead and would take a five-point 29-24 lead into the locker room.
  • In the opening minutes of the second frame, the Blue Jays would claw their way back to within one at 36-35 before the Dutchmen would again answer with a quick 8-0 run to push their lead back up to nine around the midway point of the half.
  • LVC would lead 46-41 with 7:57 left and would begin to run away from Elizabethtown. The Dutchmen would outscore the Jays 24-13 down the stretch and would cruise to the 70-54 win.
Inside The Numbers
  • Collin Jones led all players with 22 points while also grabbing six rebounds.
  • Ryan Harder had his highest scoring game of his career with 16 points while not missing a single shot from the floor. Harder went 6-for-6 from the field, 4-for-4 from three-point land, and 2-for-2 at the free throw line.
  • Evin Timochenko notched a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds.
  • The Dutchmen finished 13-for-15 from the charity stripe while Elizabethtown was just 4-for-8 from the line.
  • The Dutchmen committed 13 turnovers while Elizabethtown had 19 turnovers for the game.
