W. Hockey Falls In High-Scoring Affair

RYE, N.Y. – The Lebanon Valley Women's Ice Hockey team dropped a 6-2 matchup at Manhattanville College in UCHC action on the second day of a back-to-back with the Valiants on Saturday afternoon. The Dutchmen fall to 2-4, 1-3 UCHC while Manhattanville improves to 4-0, 4-0 UCHC.

How It Happened
  • The Dutchmen would jump ahead of Manhattanville first as LVC would take advantage of an early power play opportunity in the opening period. Abby Radcliffe would find the back of the net to put LVC ahead 8:28 into the contest.
  • Manhattanville would get their offense rolling in the second half of the opening frame as they scored four goals in an eight-minute span, including a shorthanded goal, to take a 4-1 lead into the locker room at the first intermission.
  • The goals kept coming in the second period for both sides. The Valiants would add a PP goal early in the second period before Radcliffe would notch her second goal of the game to bring LVC back within three. Manhattanville would pick up their second shorthanded tally towards the end of the period and would hold a 6-2 lead after two periods. The score would remain the same through the third as LVC fell 6-2 to the Valiants.
Inside The Numbers
  • Abby Radcliffe netted her first two goals of the season, one coming on the power play.
  • LVC went 1-for-6 on the PP while the Valiants were 1-for-4, however Manhattanville scored two shorthanded goals as well.
  • The Valiants outshot LVC 40-26 for the game.
  • Olivia Magneson made 34 saves in net for the Dutchmen.
  • The Dutchmen blocked 17 shots as a team while Manhattanville only blocked four.

The Dutchmen return home their next time out when they host Nazareth College in UCHC action this Friday at 4:30 p.m. in Hersheypark Arena.
