How It Happened
- The Dutchmen would get the scoring started early in the first half after taking advantage of a corner kick opportunity. Anderson Velozwong would flick on the corner across the face of the goal that ricocheted off the chest of David Alcock and found the back of the net to give LVC a 1-0 lead just 9:06 into the game.
- In the 23rd minute, Iliass Zouita would fire a left-footed shot from just outside the box and it would squirt its way through into the goal to tie the game up 1-1.
- The two teams would each have multiple dangerous scoring chances for the remainder of regulation but neither was able to beat the opposing goalkeeper and the game went into overtime.
- In the extra session, Aaron Weitzel would fit a through-ball in a tight window to the feet of Zach Reed who was able to slip it by the Mustang netminder to lift LVC to the 2-1 win in a physical conference matchup.
