ANNVILLE, Pa. – Lebanon Valley's Field Hockey team dropped their regular-season finale to Alvernia by a score of 2-1 on Wednesday evening. The Dutchmen fall to 9-9, 5-3 MACC while the Golden Wolves improve to 8-9, 5-3 MACC.
Prior to the contest, LVC honored their four seniors, Danielle Alba, Kassidy McKeever, Joelle McKeever, and Corinne Kearney.

How It Happened
  • After a slow start to the contest with neither side generating many scoring chances, Alvernia would get on the scoreboard around the midway point of the opening period. Following a penalty corner, Brooke Spezialetti would find Felicia Getz to the left of the goal who would quickly fire a shot into the back of the net to put the Golden Wolves in front.
  • The two teams would continue their stingy defensive play as the first half saw just three total shots and Alvernia went into halftime leading LVC 1-0.
  • In the third quarter, Spezialetti converted on a penalty shot opportunity to double the Alvernia advantage.
  • LVC would cut into their deficit 5:22 into the fourth quarter when Sorrell Long connected on a penalty shot of her own. LVC would be unable to get the equalizing score as they fell 2-1.
Inside The Numbers
  • Sorrell Long scored her first goal on the season via penalty shot in the fourth quarter.
  • Alverni'a Brooke Spezialetti led all players with three points on a goal and an assist.
  • Corinne Kearney made five saves in net.
  • The Golden Wolves outshot the Dutchmen 10-4 and 7-1 on goal.
  • The game featured 19 penalty corners, with LVC holding a 10-9 advantage.
