READING, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley Women's Soccer team outshot Alvernia by 27 on the day and eventually got the one goal they needed as they edged the Golden Wolves 1-0 to win their third straight contest. LVC improves to 7-6-1, 5-1 MACC on the year while Alvernia drops to 3-12, 0-5 MACC.
How It Happened
- The Dutchmen utterly dominated the opening 45 minutes of this one despite being held scoreless. LVC fired off 14 shots with nine ending up on goal while also holding the Golden Wolves without a single shot all half. The Dutchmen also generated six corner kick opportunities but a stingy Alvernia defense kept the LVC offense off the scoreboard. The two teams went into halftime scoreless.
- In the second half, it was more of the same from the Dutchmen as they outshot Alvernia 17-4 in the second frame. LVC would finally crack the Alvernia backline when Reagan McCarty found Tylee Stauffer who would find the back of the net for the game's lone goal in the 76th minute.
- The LVC defense would continue to clamp down any Alvernia attack while Jocelyn Umana stopped all three shots she faced as the Dutchmen took care of business with a 1-0 shutout win.
