How It Happened
READING, Pa.Peter Foerster's 27th-minute goal was enough for Sean Quirk and the Lebanon Valley Men's Soccer team, as the Flying Dutchmen escaped with a crucial 1-0 win over Alvernia University on Tuesday night in MAC Commonwealth action. LVC moved to 11-3, 4-2 MACC, while the Golden Wolves dropped to 10-4, 3-2 MACC.

For the second consecutive game, LVC was fouled inside the box in the 27th minute and Foerster was tasked with another penalty kick. Similar to this past weekend vs. York (Pa.), Foerster buried the goal at 26:41 to give the Dutchmen the 1-0 lead.

That was all Sean Quirk and LVC's defense needed, as the Dutchmen kept the Golden Wolves off the scoreboard, en route to the 1-0 victory. Alvernia said a good scoring chance late in the game, in the 86th minute, but Quirk was there for the save to keep LVC ahead by one.

Inside the Numbers
 - Foerster netted his fourth goal of the season this evening.
 - Quirk was magnificent and made 13 saves in LVC's shutout victory.
 - Zach Reed, Aaron Weitzel, and Anderson Velozwong each added a shot on goal.
 - Alvernia led in shots (23-17) and shots on goal (13-4).
 - The Golden Wolves also held the advantage in corner kicks at 7-3.

Playoff Picture
With two conference games remaining in the regular season, LVC sits in sole possession of third place in the MAC Commonwealth at 4-2, behind Stevenson (4-1) and Messiah (6-0). Tonight's Dutchmen victory was crucial, as Alvernia moved to fourth at 3-2.
