How It Happened
ANNVILLE, Pa. – In front of a packed crowed on Homecoming, Lebanon Valley College's Football team delivered a dominant 31-10 victory over Alvernia University on Saturday in Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Football action. The Flying Dutchmen improved to 3-3, 2-2 MAC, while the Golden Wolves fell to 0-7, 0-5 MAC.

1st Quarter
  • In the opening quarter, the visitors put together a nice drive until Erik Williams picked off Kevin Washington's pass at LVC's 21-yard line and returned it six yards to halt Alvernia's scoring chance. From there, the Dutchmen put together a solid drive using mostly its ground game and was threatening to score heading into the second.
2nd Quarter
  • Early in the second, LVC capped a 14-play, 62-yard drive with Kevin Roberts' 28-yard field go to give the Dutchmen a 3-0 lead.
  • After LVC's defense forced a three-and-out, the home team continued to hurt the Golden Wolves on the ground and the Dutchmen put together another impressive drive, this time a 12-play, 68-yard drive then ended with Braden Bohannon's 11-yard TD rush that increased LVC's lead to 10-0 heading into halftime.
3rd Quarter
  • LVC received first in the third and Alvernia attempted some trickery with an onside kick, but it was illegal touched by kicker Ryan Long, giving the Dutchmen great field position at Alvernia's 35-yard line.
  • Tim Ervey needed just one play to score, as he broke off a 35-yard run for his first TD of the game to make it a 17-0 contest.
  • The Golden Wolves got on the board later in the quarter thanks to Henry Garton's 37-yard field goal, but LVC still led by two scores at 17-3.
  • After gaining momentum with a drive that finally involved points, Alvernia gained even more momentum after Ryan Long's punt was partially blocked by Logan Grauer, but then an LVC defender touched the ball and Anthony Hugee pounced on it at the Dutchmen's 37-yard line.
4th Quarter
  • The visitors took advantage of the LVC miscue thanks to Malcolm Carey's one-yard rushing TD, bringing the Golden Wolves to within seven at 17-10.
  • Later in the fourth, Ervey became the workhorse and rushed all six times in LVC's drive and capped it with a five-yard TD, his second of the game, putting the Dutchmen ahead 24-10.
  • Then, on LVC's next possession, Ervey and the Dutchmen put the game out of reach off Ervey's 49-yard touchdown, his third of the contest, as LVC went on to handle Alvernia 31-10.
