How It Happened
ANNVILLE, Pa.Maddy Hartman's goal in the 57th minute proved to be enough for Lebanon Valley's Women's Soccer team in the Dutchmen's 1-0 victory over Eastern University on Tuesday afternoon in MAC Commonwealth action. LVC improved to 5-6-1, 3-1 MACC, while the Eagles fell to 6-5-2, 1-2-1 MACC.

1st Half
  • LVC controlled action from the start and saw far more scoring opportunities than Eastern throughout the game's entirety. In the first, the Dutchmen put on constant pressure, but had nothing to show for it, as they outshot the Eagles 11-0 in the opening period of action but the game remained tied at 0-0 going into the second half.
2nd Half
  • In the 57th minute, Hartman made a move past a defender just outside the top of the box and controlled the ball with her right foot. She then delivered a rocket that beat Emily Honig to her right to give the Dutchmen a 1-0 lead.
  • In the final minutes, Eastern saw perhaps its best scoring chance when Gabi Hollinger rocketed one towards the LVC defense, but Jocelyn Umana made a diving stop and the Dutchmen ran out the clock on the Eagles to hold on for the narrow victory.
Inside the Numbers
  • Hartman netted her team-leading third goal of the season. She added five total shots.
  • Umana picked up the win in net and needed to make just three saves.
  • Eastern's Honig made seven stops between the pipes.
  • Darrian Berkheimer had five shots, while Tylee Stauffer added a pair.
  • The Dutchmen dominated in shots at 21-5, as well as shots on goal at 8-3.
  • LVC held the slight edge in corner kicks at 4-2.
  • The Dutchmen were whistled for 10 fouls, while the Eagles were called for eight.
Who's Next?
LVC is back in action this Saturday, Oct. 16, when the Dutchmen welcome York (Pa.) to Herbert Field on Homecoming at 1 p.m.
