How It Happened
FORT PIERCE, Fla. – Lebanon Valley got off to a hot start and never looked back in a 9-5 victory over Kenyon College (Gambier, Ohio) in game one of a doubleheader this afternoon on the Flying Dutchmen's spring break trip.

Getting out to early leads has become a staple for LVC's offense in the Sunshine State, and today was no different. In the bottom of the second, TJ Holdredge singled home Chris DeClerico for the early 1-0 lead, and later in the frame, Mitch Rickabaugh reached on an error that allowed Holdredge to score to make it 2-0. In the bottom of the second, Nico Santoro scored on a wild pitch to make it 3-0 before the Dutchmen scored another in the bottom of the third to go up 4-0.

The Lords tried to claw their way back and scraped across a run in the top of the fourth, but LVC shut the door in the bottom of the inning and scored four runs to go up 8-1. Andrew Miles began the fourth-inning scoring with an RBI-single, followed by DeClerico's single that allowed Dan Scalley and Miles to score. Holdredge then reached on a fielder's choice and LVC took advantage of another Kenyon miscue when Bryan Towers scored off an error. The Lords scored twice in both the fifth and seventh innings, but it wasn't enough and LVC went on to win 9-5.

How It Happened
In game two of today's doubleheader, it was the Michael Leri show, as the senior launched three home runs in LVC's dominate 11-3 victory over the Lords. After the game-two win, the Dutchmen have now won six straight games and improved to 7-2, while Kenyon dropped to 1-4.

Leri provided LVC's pitching staff with another early cushion, as he crushed a three-run home run over the fence in the top of the first for the 3-0 lead. After Kenyon got one back in the bottom of the frame, the Dutchmen went back up by three in the top of the third thanks to Tanner Rock's sacrifice fly. Then, in the top of the fifth, Leri homered again, this time a two-run shot, to increase LVC's advantage to 6-1.

In the sixth, the Dutchmen put the game out of reach thanks to three different RBI-doubles by Rock, Daymond Zweizig, and Ethan Hurd. Then, in the top of the seventh, Leri hit a solo home run for his third shot of the game, as LVC cruised to an 11-3 victory to earn the sweep.

Inside the Numbers
 - Michael Leri became the first player in program history to hit three home runs in one game and he finished with six RBI.
 - Bryan Towers recorded a pair of hits and scored a run.
 - Dave Mangold scored a pair of runs.
