How It Happened
READING, Pa. – Lebanon Valley needed every bit of their season-high 91 points to top Albright in a crucial MAC Commonwealth matchup, 91-87, on Saturday afternoon. The Dutchmen shot over 53% from the floor in the win, as well as knocked down eight 3-pointers, to avenge an OT loss to the Lions earlier in the season. LVC improves to 10-11, 5-7, while Albright drops to 11-10, 6-6.

Picking it up after halftime, LVC trailed by just a pair, but the teams would trade buckets throughout the early portions of the half with Albright holding a slight advantage before a quick 6-0 spurt by the Dutchmen, capped by a Justin Baker layup, would give LVC their first lead of the half at 62-60. The back-and-forth theme would continue as from the time it was 62-60, to when it was tied up at 76 with 5:51 to go, the teams changed leads four times and neither team held a lead larger than three points.

Baker would begin to take over offensively for the Dutchmen down the stretch as he scored eight consecutive LVC points over a three-minute stretch that gave the Dutchmen a slim 84-81 lead with 2:48 left in regulation. With the game in the balance, the Dutchmen were poised at the charity stripe, knocking down five of their six attempts in the final 45 seconds to put the game on ice and pick up a huge conference victory to keep their postseason hopes alive.

The first half was also a back-and-forth affair with each team having their ways on the offensive end. LVC opened up a 20-14 lead near the midway point of the half before the Lions would answer with a 12-0 run to take a six-point lead. The Lions would hold the lead for the rest of the half but a Luis Garcia triple at the buzzer would bring LVC within two points at the intermission.
