How It Happened
ANNVILLE, Pa. – Despite falling to Lycoming 64-42 on Wednesday evening, the LVC women's basketball team was still able to celebrate an individual achievement as junior, Emily Mealey, became the 15th player in Dutchmen women's basketball history to reach the 1,000 career points mark. Mealey finished with a game-high 22 points and 17 rebounds.

The Dutchmen struggled on the offensive end with turnovers and were unable to get any sort of rhythm in the opening quarter as they quickly fell behind 18-8 after the first 10 minutes. The Warriors knocked down a pair of 3-pointers in the first quarter to help extend their lead.

Morgan Mader would start off the second quarter by knocking a down a pair of triples to push the Warrior advantage out to 16. LVC would start to claw back into the game with a 9-0 run that included a pair of layups by Mealey with 5:31 before the half. LVC would go cold from the field as they only mustered two points for the remainder of the half and the Warriors would take a 36-19 lead into intermission.

The game would go back-and-forth in the third with the teams trading baskets throughout the period. Mealey would get hot from the field as she scored nine straight Dutchmen points with the last layup in that run giving her 1,000 for her career. Later in the quarter, a pair of Daelyn Stabler jumpers would cut the deficit to single digits before the Warriors would close the period out on an 8-0 run. The Dutchmen would be unable to surge another comeback effort as they fell to Lycoming 64-42.
