How It Happened
HERSHEY, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley women's ice hockey team fell in their final home contest of the 2019-20 season by a 5-1 score to Stevenson on Saturday afternoon. The Dutchmen celebrated senior day prior to the contest as they recognized their six seniors and equipment manager.

Stevenson got on the board early with a goal off the stick of Nikki Kendrick just 3:04 into the first period to put LVC in an early hole. The Mustangs would add a powerplay tally in the final minute of the first period to double their lead headed into the first intermission. After a scoreless 19 minutes of the second period, Stevenson recorded another last-minute powerplay goal to push their lead out to three after two periods.

In the final frame, Stevenson added a pair of insurance goals in the first 7:29 to put the game virtually out of reach. Morgan Martin would put LVC on the scoreboard just after the midway point of the third period. Olivia Cindrich and Rachel Havrylkoff would pick up assists on the Martin tally but LVC would eventually fall 5-1 at the hands of Stevenson.

Lahey
"On the ice, she has the unique honor of being able to say she started in goal for the first-ever game in the history of the program on October 28th, 2016 against Neumann. I'm very proud of the way she's overcome the obstacle that she has faced in her time at LVC. She was named to the 2018 UCHC All-Academic Team, and has been a calming influence on her teammates over the years."

Borrelli
"She's been a mainstay on the blue line for the Dutchmen throughout her four seasons here. Taylor is one of the most passionate kids about the game of hockey that I've ever coached. She loves the game and always wants to be a factor in the outcome. Through good times and bad, Taylor has always kept a positive outlook and has shown incredible heart for hockey."

Havrylkoff
"She can say something that no one has ever said before, and it's that she's one of the only players in NCAA history to convert from goaltender to forward and play all four seasons at the new position. Rachel has proven to be one of the smartest players away from the puck that has worn the LVC sweater. Over her four years here, she's been a consistent player and a mainstay as a penalty killer. She was named to the 2018 UCHC All-Academic Team."

Moffatt
"Jill's done so much for this team throughout her four years, both on and off the ice. Whether that's starting in goal, leading by example, designing winter classic sweaters, and even making videos that market the team. She's been a proven leader since the day she stepped on campus, having earned team MVP honors each of the previous three seasons. She's been named UCHC Goalie of the Year, First-Team All-MAC, as well as being the NCAA record-holder of all divisions for saves in one season, and total career saves."

Tarasiewicz
"Lainey has a do-whatever-it-takes mentality. She's played defense, power play, penalty kill, and even forward. She'd do anything to help her teammates. She's a very vocal person and her actions on and off the ice speak volumes. She's always done what is asked of her and played wherever needed without complaint. She was named to the 2018 UCHC All-Academic Team."

Humes
"There isn't a bad thing anyone can say about Maddie. She comes to the rink everyday willing to work and wanting to get better. She's one of the smartest players I've had the opportunity to coach. She's a warrior, always willing to do the dirty work for the betterment of the team. Always a leader by example through practice and games, there isn't anything she wouldn't do for her teammates. She was also named to the 2018 UCHC All-Academic Team. "

Tristan Ferguson
"Tristian has been a mainstay with the team since its inception four years ago. His countless hours and dedication have not gone unnoticed. His willingness to do anything and everything has been greatly appreciated by the players and staff. We can't begin to say thank you for all of your efforts and wish you the best of luck in the future."

Coach Yingst finished with this. "This graduating class is a special one. They are the six players who can say they were on the inaugural women's team here at LVC. They're also the first six players to graduate having played a full four seasons for the Dutchmen. Throughout the past four years, they've been a part of many firsts for this program. The six of them have helped lay the foundation for this hockey program and will be remembered forever for all their hard work and dedication to Lebanon Valley. For four seasons, they've battled, fought, and stuck together in order to keep this program going, while facing some extreme adversity. Without each one of them, this program would not be where it is today, and wouldn't be poised for greatness in the coming years. Being on board for the beginning of anything is difficult to say the least, but these six players continually worked hard in order to grow both as players and people on and off the ice."

Who's Next?
