How It Happened
ANNVILLE, Pa. – A dominating fourth quarter, capped by a turnover with seven seconds left forced by Jaime Youngkin, helped Lebanon Valley's women's basketball team top the Hood College Blazers, 62-57, and give the Dutchmen their first MAC Commonwealth victory on the year.

The Dutchmen came out of the locker room hot as they scored six quick points in the first 1:45 on a pair a trio of layups from Emily Mealey and Amber Kintzer. Hood would quickly answer with a 7-0 run in response to grab the lead to begin the back-and-forth contest. Hood would lead by a pair at the end of the opening period, 16-14. The second quarter was a tight one as neither team led by more than four points for the entirety of the 10 minutes and a pair of late buckets by the Mia Savoy would give the Blazers a three-point advantage at intermission.

Hood would open up their largest lead of the game at the 4:37 mark of the third quarter when they led 45-36. LVC would begin to chip away at the Blazer advantage with a 3-pointer by Morgan Bamberger that spurred a 10-3 run to close the period as Hood held a slim 48-46 lead headed into the final stanza.

In the fourth, LVC would clamp down on defense by holding the Blazers to just 4-of-16 shooting and nine points in the quarter while the Dutchmen scored 16 points in the period with 10 coming from the charity stripe. After trailing 52-49 around the midway point of the fourth, LVC would rattle off eight consecutive points while holding Hood scoreless for just under five minutes. Bre Smith hit a deep three with 12 ticks to go to cut the LVC lead to one point, but Bamberger would hit a pair of free throws followed by Youngkin forcing a turnover on Hood's ensuing inbounds pass after a timeout to help clinch the win for the Dutchmen, 62-57.
