How It Happened
GENEVA, N.Y. – Lebanon Valley's women's ice hockey team dropped a 6-0 contest to William Smith on Saturday afternoon. The Dutchmen fall to 3-6-1 un UCHC play while William Smith improves to 6-2 in league play.
 
The Herons got off to a fast start as they were able to find the back of the net just 1:34 into the contest. The Herons would add two more goals in the period and lead 3-0 after the first frame. In the second period, William Smith tallied three more goals to hold a commanding 6-0 advantage with just 20 minutes to play. The score would stay 6-0 for the entirety of the third period as the Dutchmen fell in UCHC action.
 
Inside the Numbers
  • Jill Moffatt made 65 saves in between the pipes for the Dutchmen in relief.
  • William Smith won the faceoff battle 34-28.
  • The Herons outshot the Dutchmen 75-13 for the game.
  • LVC was held scoreless on four powerplay chances while the Herons were 0-1.

The Dutchmen are back on the ice tomorrow as they take on the 4th-ranked Elmia College Soaring Eagles on Sunday afternoon. Puck drop is slated for 3 p.m. in Pine Valley, N.Y.
