How It Happened
HERSHEY, Pa. – Lebanon Valley's women's ice hockey team fell in UCHC action, 3-0, to Nazareth College on Sunday afternoon. LVC falls to 3-5-1 in UCHC play while the Golden Flyers improve to 6-1-0.
After a scoreless first period, Nazareth would capitalize on a LVC penalty to put the Golden Flyers on the board. Jessica Kollberg found the back of the net at the 9:19 mark of the second period to put Nazareth in the lead. Rachel Rice would add another goal late in the frame to double the Nazareth advantage as the Dutchmen found themselves down a pair with just one period left in regulation.
Midway through the third period, Nazareth would add an insurance goal off the stick of Nikolle Van Stralen to put away the Dutchmen, 3-0.
Inside the Numbers
- Jill Moffatt was solid in net for LVC as she finished with 55 saves on 58 shots faced. Her third 50+ save performance this season.
- Nazareth outshot the Dutchmen 58-3.
- LVC went 0-3 on the powerplay for the game while the Golden Flyers were 1-4 on the man-advantage.
- LVC blocked four shots on the defensive end.
Who's Next?
The Dutchmen will be back on the ice next weekend when they head up north to take on William Smith College on Saturday, Jan. 25. Puck drop scheduled for 4 p.m. at The Cooler in Geneva, N.Y.
