How It Happened
HERSHEY, Pa. – No. 14 Stevenson netted five goals in the third period to pull away from and defeat Lebanon Valley 7-3 on Friday night on the Flying Dutchmen's 10th annual Military Appreciation Night. LVC fell to 3-11-1, 1-6-1 UCHC, 0-3 MAC, while the Mustangs improved to 11-3, 8-1 UCHC, 2-1 MAC.

With the visiting Mustangs ahead 2-1 heading into the third period, the Dutchmen came roaring back, beginning with Danny Galvez' power-play goal just 42 seconds into the third from Cole Hepler and Tyler Romel. Then, LVC drew another penalty and took advantage when Justin Hall ripped a shot past Stevenson's goalie from Zach Balodis and Ziki Mroz, giving the Dutchmen a huge 3-2 lead against the country's No. 14 team.

From there, LVC was called for a two-minute penalty, allowing Stevenson's potent offense a man-advantage. The Mustangs took advantage and scored a power-play goal to even the game at 3-3 6:39 into the final stanza. Less than three minutes later, Stevenson went ahead with a goal from Ryan Patrick to make it a 4-3 game. Then, less than 30 seconds later, the Dutchmen took a five-minute major penalty, allowing the visitors to go on the power play for five minutes of action.

The Mustangs scored more power-play goals to go up 6-3, and added one more score at the 14:42 mark of the third and went on to win 7-3. In the opening period, Stevenson was the first to light the lamp when Patrick scored a short-handed goal, but with just over four minutes left in the first, Brad Viola's wristshot found the back of the net from Romel to even the game at 1-1 going into second-period action.
