How It Happened
ANNVILLE, Pa. – Lebanon Valley's women's soccer team dropped their final non-conference home match 3-1 at the hands of the DeSales University Bulldogs on Wednesday afternoon.
The Bulldogs got out to a quick start with a pair of goals in the first 8:32 of the match. The scoring started when Rachel Medlar rebounded her own shot after it was initially blocked and placed her second shot in to the back of the net for an early 1-0 lead. Three minutes and two seconds later, Katie Padgett was on the receiving end of a Cassidy Klein cross to double the Bulldog advantage. Klein played the ball in from the left wing and a cutting Padgett got a head to the ball and flicked into the right corner of the net.
The Dutchmen would cut the DeSales lead in half with a goal of their own at the 31:33 mark of the first half.
Cheyenne Scott played a through ball to
Lucy McGloshen who then made a nice dribble move on the Bulldog keeper before burying the ball in the open net. In the 41st minute, Bulldog leading scorer, Allie Trick found the back of the net for the sixth time this season after rebounding another shot that was initially saved. DeSales would take the 3-1 lead into halftime.
The Bulldog defense would limit LVC offensively holding the Dutchmen to just five shots in the final 45 minutes. DeSales could not crack the LVC defense for any tallies in the second half as well but the Dutchmen eventually fell by a 3-1 score.
