How It Happened
ANNVILLE, Pa. – Gettysburg netted two second-half goals and hung on to edge Lebanon Valley 2-1 on Wednesday evening in non-conference field hockey action. The Flying Dutchmen slipped to 2-5, while the Bullets improved to 5-2.

After neither team was able to find the back of the net in the opening quarter, LVC finally struck midway through the second when a cross from the right side was tipped by a Gettysburg defender, but Ashlee Sheibley pounced on it and snuck one into the left-hand side of the net for her third of the season that put the Dutchmen ahead 1-0. From there, LVC kept Gettysburg off the scoreboard and kept a 1-0 advantage heading into halftime.

In the third quarter, the Bullets evened the contest when Tamlin Unruh crossed the ball to the right side of the circle and Julia Soares rocketed a ball into the back of the net to tie the game. Then, early on in the fourth, Soares netted her second of the game and sixth of the season after Nikki Willi's initial save came right to Soares and she tallied a goal. In the final minute, the Bullets controlled the ball and eventually ran the clock out.
