Lebanon Valley def. Wells 3-1 (25-23, 23-25, 25-22, 25-22)
How It Happened
Aurora, N.Y. – Lebanon Valley split their two games on the second day of the Wells College Quad on Saturday Afternoon. LVC topped the host Wells College in their first match of the day but would then fall to Oneonta to end the weekend in New York for the Dutchmen.
The Dutchmen would take the opening set 25-23. All four sets were played tightly with all of them finishing within at most three points. Wells would respond in set two with a 25-23 win of their own to make the match a best of three for the remainder of the game. LVC would waste no time winning the next two sets against Wells, both by a score of 25-22 to come away with the victory, three sets to one.
Jayna Class led the way offensively for the Dutchmen recording 14 kills and four service aces.
Reily Shelly added 10 kills and Amanda sides tallied nine.
Mikiah Sangrey led the Dutchmen with 43 assists in the win while also adding 14 digs and four services aces.
Kaitlyn Reed led the team with 20 digs.
In the Dutchmen's second match of the afternoon, LVC dropped a four-setter to Oneonta 1-3.
LVC won the first set of the match 25-21 but would then drop the next three sets to Oneonta to fall in the weekend finale. A more detailed box score will be provided soon.
Class led the team with six kills and four service aces. Sides added five kills. Sangrey led the team with 21 assists for the match.
Who's Next?
The Dutchmen will travel back to New York next week to take part in the Alfred University tournament. LVC will take on SUNY Potsdam at 6 p.m. this Friday followed by a matchup with Hilbert College at 8 p.m. in Alfred, N.Y.
