How It Happened
ANNVILLE, Pa. – The Hood Blazers scored one run in the tenth inning to earn the 2-1 victory over the Lebanon Valley Flying Dutchmen on Saturday afternoon's Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Commonwealth matchup. Hood moved to 15-8-1, 7-3 MACC, while the Dutchmen dropped to 12-11, 4-6 MACC.
The Dutchmen were the first to score after
Josh Marcelli hit a bomb over the wall deep into left field earning his first homerun of the 2019 season. Both teams stayed at a standstill until the top of the sixth when the Blazers' Joe Kroeger scored after Dylan Beck doubled down the left field line and tied the score at 1-1.
Both teams remained knotted up at 1-1 and went into extra innings. It went to the top of the tenth, and Hood's Andrew Wenner stole second and then due to a sacrifice bunt and sacrifice fly, Wenner crossed home and gave the Blazers the 2-1 lead. In the bottom of the tenth, the Dutchmen were in scoring range with
Joey Wrabel on third with two outs.
Chris DeClerico was at bat with 0-2 and got a piece of the ball but lined out to the third baseman. The Blazers won 2-1.

How It Happened
Lebanon Valley scored three unanswered runs in the sixth to earn the 5-1 victory splitting the day with the Blazers. LVC moved to 13-11, 5-6 MACC, and the Blazers slipped to 15-9-1, 7-4 MACC.
The Dutchmen were the first to score in the bottom of the first with the bases loaded,
Joey Wrabel singled to left field plating
Josh Herring. Hood scored the next inning tying the score at 1-1.
Both teams remained tied until the bottom of the fourth when Herring hit one deep into center plating
Bryan Towers and earning himself an RBI. LVC kept the momentum to the bottom of the sixth, and Towers tripled deep to right center bringing
Tanner Rock home. Herring then singled to left and Rock crossed home plate. Herring then stole second and made it to third after an error by the Blazers. Herring made it home after a wild pitch, and the Dutchmen now led 5-1. Due to the good pitching by
Brenden Ward and the defense, the Blazers first three batters got out, and Lebanon Valley went on to win 5-1.
