How It Happened
AMBLER, Pa. – Lebanon Valley fell 6-2 in game one of this afternoon's doubleheader at Arcadia University.
The home team hopped out to a quick 2-0 lead after plating a pair of runs in the bottom of the first, followed by another run in the bottom of the third. After the Knights added two more in the bottom of the fifth to take a 5-0 advantage, the Flying Dutchmen made things interesting in the top of the sixth, beginning with
Josh Herring's single through the left side that scored
Joey Wrabel and
Chris DeClerico.
Later in the inning, LVC loaded the bases, but was unable to come any closer, as Arcadia pitching got out of it and held the Dutchmen scoreless in the top of the seventh after adding an insurance run in the bottom of the sixth.
Inside the Numbers
- Herring went 1-for-2 at the plate with a pair of RBI. The junior now has 99 career hits.

TJ Holdredge recorded a double in the top of the first.

Jake Williams was dealt the loss after allowing three earned runs in three innings of work.
- Arcadia's Joel Bartoni moved to 7-1 on the season and gave up a pair of earned runs and struck out six.

How It Happened
In game two, the home team stormed back thanks to a seven-run fifth inning to defeat the Dutchmen 9-4 in the nightcap.
LVC got off to a hot start when
Josh Marcelli singled to left field to score DeClerico. After Herring's sacrifice fly made it 2-0, Towers singled through the left side to score Holdredge. Then, in the top of the fourth, Holdredge singled home
Joey Wrabel to extend the Dutchmen's advantage to 4-0.
Thing became unraveled in the bottom of the fifth though, as Arcadia sent 12 men to the plate and scored seven runs to overtake the Dutchmen at 7-4. In the bottom of the sixth, the home team tacked on two more runs and eventually hung on for the 9-4 victory.
Inside the Numbers
- Wrabel, Holdredge, and Towers registered two hits apiece.

Brenden Ward tossed 4.2 innings and allowed seven runs, but struck out five.
Playoff Picture
The Dutchmen are down, but not out of the playoff picture. They currently sit at 6-12, while Stevenson and Widener at tied for the fourth and final spot at 8-10. LVC and the Mustangs are set to begin their three-game series next Friday, while Widener will battle Hood in its final regular season series. Hood, Alvernia, and Arcadia have clinched postseason-tournament berths.
