How It Happened
CHESTER, Pa. – Lebanon Valley dropped a 23-6 decision to Widener on Friday afternoon in MAC Commonwealth baseball action. The Flying Dutchmen dropped to 13-14, 5-8 MAC Commonwealth and the Pride jumped to 11-18-1, 5-8 MAC Commonwealth.

LVC was the first to score this afternoon when TJ Holdredge reached on an error that scored Bryan Towers. The home team, however, struck for a pair of runs in the bottom of the first to make it 2-1, but in the top of the second, the Dutchmen got two runs off one swing of the bat when Chris DeClerico homered to left field to put LVC back ahead by one at 3-2.

Unfortunately, it was all Widener from there. The Pride scored a run in both the second and third innings, and scored five more times in the fifth to go up 9-3. In the top of the seventh, DeClerico hit another two-run homerun, but it wasn't nearly enough, as Widener's offense continued to click on all cylinders in the later innings and the Pride went on to put up 23 runs to win comfortably.

Inside the Numbers
 - DeClerico enjoyed perhaps his best offensive game of the season with two home runs, four RBI, and two runs scored.
 - Nick O'Shea, Mike Bulgia, Tanner Rock, and Luke Blair recorded one hit apiece.
 - Josh Marcelli drew a pair of walks for the Dutchmen.
 - Widener's Tommy McParland went 5-for-6 at the plate, while Daren Wood was 5-for-5 with six RBI.
 Who's Next?
The Dutchmen and Pride are set to finish off their regular season series tomorrow at McGill Field in a pivotal conference doubleheader beginning at noon. LVC will also celebrate its class on 2019 before the first game.
