How It Happened
CLERMONT, Fla. – Lebanon Valley dropped its second contest of the day 5-4 after the Defiance Yellow Jackets scored all five runs in the last inning in the second day of the spring break trip. The Dutchmen dropped to 1-3, while the yellow jackets advanced to 3-2. In game one of today's doubleheader, LVC dropped a 9-2 contest to Bridgewater, and those stats will be available in the morning.
LVC was the first to get on the board in the bottom of the first after
Annie McClain ran in on a passed ball by the Yellow Jackets. With
Kate Whelski on third,
Rylee Shockley singled and brought Whelski home giving the Dutchmen a 2-0 lead. In the bottom of the third, Whelski scored another run to make it a 3-0 contest.. Lebanon Valley went up 4-0 when
Robin Feaster singled to right center and picked up an RBI as
Savannah Toth crossed home plate.
The Yellow Jackets gained control late in the game as they plated five runs in the top of the seventh. The Dutchmen couldn't come back in the bottom of the seventh and eventually fell 5-4.
Inside the Numbers
- Whelski led both teams with two runs.
- McClain and Toth had a run each.
- Shockley and Feaster led the Dutchmen with two hits apiece, as well as one RBI each.

Lexi Windsor tossed 6.2 innings and struck out three.
Who's Next?
The Dutchmen get a break in the spring break trip and play again on Wednesday, March 6th, when they take on Emmanuel College at 11:15 a.m. before battling Moravian College at 1:45 p.m.
