How It Happened
GETTYSBURG, Pa. – Lebanon Valley nearly completed a comeback against Gettysburg in a back-and-forth contest but was eventually edged by the Bullets 9-8 on Wednesday afternoon in non-conference baseball action. The Dutchmen fell to 9-4, while Gettysburg improved to 7-4.

Down by a pair of runs at 9-7 heading into the top of the ninth, TJ Holdredge started off the frame with a double to left center. Then, with one out, Tanner Rock singled to right field to put runners on the corners. Later in the inning with two outs, Rock advanced to second and Holdredge scored on a wild pitch, putting the tying run in scoring position. The Dutchmen, however, were unable to tie the game and the home team held on for the narrow victory.

This afternoon's scoring began in a wild second inning that featured nine total runs. In the top of the frame, Mitch Rickabaugh was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to make it 1-0 LVC. Later, Josh Herring continued to shine on offense and ripped a two-RBI double to right center to score Ethan Hurd and Rock to increase the visitor's lead to 3-0.

In the bottom of the inning, Gettysburg answered with six runs, though, to go up 6-3. The Dutchmen's offense continued to click in the top of the third when Rock's fielder's choice scored Josh Marcelli, followed by a balk by the Bullets that allowed Holdredge to score, bringing LVC to within one at 6-5. After Gettysburg got one back in the bottom of the third, the Dutchmen added two more runs in the top of the fourth thanks to Chris DeClerico's single, followed by Holdredge's RBI-single to center that evened the game at 7-7. In the bottom of the sixth, the Bullets scored a run off Giovinco's RBI-double, and the home squad added another run thanks to Muir's RBI-bunt single.

Inside the Numbers
 - Holdredge paced the offense going 3-for-5 with an RBI and two runs scored.
