How It Happened
REISTERSTOWN, Md. – Lebanon Valley fell to Stevenson by a 4-0 score on Sunday afternoon in United Collegiate Hockey Conference (UCHC) and Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) action. The Dutchmen now sit at 4-16-0, 1-15-0 UCHC, while the Mustangs jumped to 8-12-1, 5-8-1 UCHC.
The game began on Saturday, but due to a malfunctioning zamboni, the contest was suspended and the last two periods were played this afternoon.
In the opening period, which took place yesterday, Stevenson's Nikki Kendrick found the back of the net just over a minute into the game to give the Mustangs an early lead. From there however, LVC's defense, along with
Jill Moffatt in net, held Stevenson scoreless for the remainder of the period.
After the Dutchmen didn't allow the home team to pull away in the second period, Kendrick struck again for the Mustangs midway through the third period with a power-play goal to extend Stevenson's advantage to 2-0. Just under three minutes later, Kellen Wittman made it a 3-0 contest with another power-play goal, and 27 seconds later, Elizabeth Gaudreau put the game out of reach with another score for Stevenson.
