How It Happened
ANNVILLE, Pa. – Frostburg State University netted six third-quarter goals to overtake Lebanon Valley and eventually edge the Flying Dutchmen 9-6 on Wednesday afternoon in non-conference men's lacrosse action. LVC slipped to 0-2, while the Bobcats jumped to 1-0.

The Dutchmen got off to a hot start when Kevin Beaver found the back of the net with 11:55 left in the first to open up this afternoon's scoring. He followed it up by scoring another unassisted goal less than two minutes later to increase LVC's advantage to 2-0 and that score held up after one period of action.

Josh Croyle scored his fifth of the season for the Dutchmen off an assist from Kevin Beaver early in the second, then Matt Torrence netted a goal from Trevor Holak with 5:41 left in the second to give LVC a comfortable 4-0 lead. With just 38 seconds left until halftime, however, Frostburg State's Paul Ruppert scored the visitor's first of the game, and that goal would prove to be huge down the stretch, as the tally gave the Bobcats momentum heading into halftime.

In the third, Frostburg outscored LVC 6-0 to overtake the Dutchmen and grab a 7-4 lead heading into the fourth. At the 9:35 mark of the final quarter, Joe Olives brought LVC back to within two at 7-5, but the visitors answered with a goal at 7:15. Torrence then scored his second of the day with 4:49 remaining to make it 8-6, but with 34 seconds to go, the Bobcats' Michael Sipes put the game out of reach with a tally.
