How It Happened
ANNVILLE, Pa. – Lebanon Valley flew past the Alvernia Golden Wolves in Saturday afternoon's Senior Day, Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Commonwealth women's basketball action 58-44. The Dutchmen ended the regular season at 13-12, 9-7 MACC, and Alvernia dropped to 3-22, 0-16 MACC.
Before the game, LVC honored its four seniors in team manager Megan Leister, team captain
Anne Lehr,
Jen Eck, and
Ashley Kline.
Both the Dutchmen and the Golden Wolves kept the score tight for the first half of the first quarter. LVC started a 9-point run with 4:26 to go in the first when Lehr had a good jumper in the paint. The Dutchmen went into the second quarter leading 18-9. Lebanon Valley kept the momentum into the second quarter when
Megan Bisco drained two 3-pointers, and
Ashley Kline had a fastbreak layup and created a 17-point separation (26-9). The Dutchmen kept going and were firing on all cylinders.
Morgan Bamberger sunk one from beyond the arc, and
Caroline Scarff added two to the board with a good jumper. LVC had their largest lead of the game with 21 points. Alvernia kept at it, however, and narrowed the gap to 16 heading into the second half.
LVC continued to lead comfortably early on in the third quarter, but the Golden Wolves didn't go away quietly and with 3:53 left in the third, Alvernia cut the deficit to 10 at 42-32. From there, the Dutchmen never let it get to within single digits and took a 46-34 advantage into the final quarter.
To open up the fourth, the visitors netted three consecutive points to cut LVC's lead to nine at 46-37. After that, the Dutchmen went on a crucial 8-0 spurt to create a 17-point separation with 4:21 left in the game. LVC was able to hold on comfortably from there to earn the 14-point victory at 58-44.
Inside the Numbers
- Megan Bisco led the team with 12 points, and
Anne Lehr was right behind her with 10.

Emily Mealey had the most rebounds for the Dutchmen with seven, and Lehr had six.
- Lehr and
Jen Eck had the most assists with four.
- The Dutchmen lead in all categories the most significant being points in the paint (26-16) and bench points (25-15).
- LVC shot 38.2 percent from inside the arc, 27.8 percent 3PT, and 55 percent from the free throw line.
Who's Next?
The Dutchmen go into postseason play in the MAC Commonwealth Play-In Game. LVC be the tournament's fifth seed and will head to No. 4 Arcadia on Monday, February 18th for a 7 p.m. showdown with the Knights. In the regular season, the two teams split 1-1.
