How It Happened
HERSHEY, Pa. – Lebanon Valley earned its first shutout-victory of the season after blanking King's (Pa.) 4-0 on Sunday afternoon in United Collegiate Hockey Conference (UCHC) and Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) action. The Dutchmen jumped to 6-16-1, 3-15-0 UCHC, 2-4 MAC, while the Monarchs fell to 1-21-1, 0-16-0 UCHC, 0-6 MAC.
Midway through the opening period, LVC took advantage of a player-up opportunity when
Emma Stillwaggon collected a rebound and made it 1-0 in favor of the Dutchmen off assists from
Jade Julius and
Caitlyn Keenan. Later in the first, at 14:21,
Chloe Glass extended the home team's lead to two when she found the back of the net from
Madison Humes. The Dutchmen then capped an impressive period when
Madalyn Nelson netted her first collegiate goal, off an assist from
Darby Seymour, to give LVC a comfortable 3-0 advantage after one period of action.
In the second, the Dutchmen were solid on defense and limited the Monarchs' scoring chances.
Jill Moffatt remained perfect in between the pipes, and after two periods of play, the Dutchmen stayed on top at 3-0. The third period was much like the second, but LVC put the game out of reach in the final 1:33 when Humes scored from Glass and
Amy Templeman. From there, the Dutchmen were able to hold off King's and recorded their first shutout of the season.
Inside the Numbers
- Moffatt stopped all 21 shots she faced to earn her first shutout-win since the Dutchmen blanked Post University in their final game of the 2016-17 season.

-
Olivia Cindrich and Humes won 11 faceoffs apiece.
Templeman Honored on Senior Day
After this afternoon's game, LVC's
Amy Templeman was honored at the Dutchmen's final home game of the season. Here's what head coach
Matt Yingst had to say about Amy: "The coaching staff and myself want to thank you for the two wonderful years that you have been a part of the women's ice hockey program. You have been such a great leader and captain as show in your work ethic, determination, desire to compete, and your principles, both on and off the ice. You have always represented Lebanon Valley College, our athletic department, and hockey team with dignity, integrity, and selflessness. The women's hockey team is stronger having had you lead this past year, not just with your words, but also through your actions. We hope you're able to take some great memories, laughs, and stories with you that you'll look back upon and smile. We will miss you!"
