How It Happened
READING, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley women's ice hockey team came up just short in the championship game of the Keystone Holiday Classic as the Dutchmen fell 2-1 to Neumann University.

For the second game in a row, the Dutchmen offense scored right away to give themselves an early lead. Emma Simpson found the stick of Jade Julius just 51 seconds into the contest and Julius would beat the Knight goaltender to give LVC the early lead. The Knights would respond just over two minutes later on a Claudia Trionfo strike to bring the game back even as each side had tallied a goal just three minutes into regulation.

Towards the end of the first period, the Knights would flip the score with their second goal of the opening frame when Katelyn Brown was nylon as Neumann took a 2-1 lead into the first intermission.

In the second period, it was Neumann controlling play offensively as they fired off 22 shots on goal in the frame, but Jill Moffatt was up to the task in between the pipes for the Dutchmen as she warded off all 22 attempts to keep the game at 2-1 headed into the final period. The Neumann defense held strong in the final 20 minutes as they held LVC scoreless in the third and LVC fell by that 2-1 score.
