HORSEHEADS, N.Y. – Elmira netted three goals in the first and third periods and took down Lebanon Valley 7-1 on Saturday night in United Collegiate Hockey Conference (UCHC) men's ice hockey action. The Flying Dutchmen fell to 2-7-1, 1-5-1 UCHC, while the Soaring Eagles improved to 5-3-1, 5-2-0 UCHC.

4:31 into the opening period, the home team got on the board when Christian Lloyd found the back of the net from Patrick Schmelzinger. Then, with just 2:03 remaining in the first, the Soaring Eagles scored again to make it 2-0. Then, with 31 ticks left on the clock in the opening stanza, Elmira netted a power-play goal and took a 3-0 advantage into the second period.

Nearly midway through the second, with the Soaring Eagles again on the man-advantage, Elmira made it a 4-0 game. Just over two minutes later, the Dutchmen got one back when Danny Galvez found the back of the net from Justin Hall and Ziki Mroz, however the home team still went into the third with a three-goal lead at 4-1. In the third period, Elmira nixed any type of LVC comeback thanks to three more goals and the Soaring Eagles went on to win by a 7-1 score.
