How It Happened
ANNVILLE, Pa. – Lebanon Valley's men's basketball team was edged by Albright College 75-72 in overtime in the Flying Dutchmen's home conference opener on Saturday afternoon. LVC dropped to 3-5, 0-2 MAC Commonwealth, while the Lions improved to 4-3, 1-1 MAC Commonwealth.

At the 8:01 mark of the second half, Albright's Jordan Guerrero made a layup that put the visitors ahead 58-45. LVC then began its comeback, beginning with Zach Tucker's 3-pointer with 7:42 to go. Tucker's triple sparked a crucial 15-0 run, capped by Luis Garcia's layup, that put the Dutchmen up 60-58 with four minutes remaining in regulation. From there, the game remained back-and-forth, and with 49 ticks left on the clock, the Lions' Isaiah Harris made a layup that put his team up 64-62. Later, after a missed free throw by Harris, L. Garcia hit a falling jumper with 20 seconds left that sent the game into overtime.

In the extra period, Albright began the action by hitting a free throw and a layup, all by Harris, to put the visitors up 67-64 with 3:45 to go. Later, with 1:48 remaining, Bryce Diehl knocked down a jumper in the paint, giving the Dutchmen a 70-69 advantage. Samuel Majekodunmi then hit a pair of free throws, followed by Harris' fastbreak-layup that put Albright up 73-70 with 59 ticks to go. Then, after Majekodumni hit a free throw that put the Lions head 75-72 with 13 seconds to go, the Dutchmen called timeout, and coming out of the huddle, Tucker was able to get off a 3-pointer with four seconds left that would've tied the game, but it fell short and Albright escaped with a narrow OT-victory.

The game was close early on as Justin Baker's layup with 12:45 left in the opening half evened the game at 9-9. Baker's layup ignited the Dutchmen's first 15-0 spurt of the game and LVC was up 22-9 with 9:14 to go in the first. Unfortunately, Albright answered with a 13-2 run that lasted 2:14 and the Lions came to within two at 24-22 with seven minutes to go in the half. Tucker then shut the door after he hit a trey and the Dutchmen went ahead by nine later, with 3:34 left, at 34-25. From there, the half of spurts ended with a 13-3 run by Albright and the game was tied at 37-37 after one half of action.
