How It Happened
GLENSIDE, Pa. – Lebanon Valley dropped an 88-69 MAC Commonwealth contest to Arcadia on Tuesday evening in men's basketball action. The Flying Dutchmen fell to 3-6, 0-3 MAC Commonwealth, while the Knights improved to 6-5, 2-2 MAC Commonwealth.
In the early stages of the opening half, things were tight as
Jeremy Deihm's jumper in the paint put LVC ahead 6-5 with 16:30 remaining. After a missed 3-pointer by Arcadia,
Collin Jones then drilled a triple at the 16-minute mark, putting the visiting Dutchmen up 9-5, and forced the Knights to burn a 30-second timeout. Coming out of the timeout, Arcadia answered with a 10-4 spurt that spanned nearly four minutes and took a 15-13 lead. The Knights continued to pour it on and went ahead by 12 at 25-13 with 9:46 left in the first half.
Zach Tucker momentarily put the fire out after connecting on a 3-pointer, but Arcadia went on another run and went up by 16 with 7:20 left after Da'kquan Davis' trey that made it 34-18. Down the stretch in the opening half, it seemed like the Knights made every shot, as the home team went into the second half with a 50-28 advantage.
In the second half, the Knights continued to shoot well, especially from beyond the arc, and LVC was unable to mount a comeback. With 4:10 remaining in the contest, a
Mason Green free throw made it just a 16-point Arcadia lead, but on the Knights' ensuing possession, Jacob Walsh hit a 3-pointer that iced the game and the home team went on to win 88-69.
