How It Happened
GLENSIDE, Pa. – Despite scoring a season-high 65 points, the Lebanon Valley women's basketball team dropped a tight MAC Commonwealth contest by a 73-65 score at Arcadia University in the team's final game before the holiday break.

The teams traded buckets throughout the opening quarter with no lead getting larger than five points until the Knights closed out the period on an 8-2 run to take a nine-point advantage into the second quarter. Early in the second, the Dutchmen trailed by nine point before going scoring eight straight points, including six by Daelyn Stabler, to cut the Arcadia lead to just one. The Knights did a lot of damage in the period from the free-throw line as they shot 7-for-10 from the line in the quarter but LVC cut the halftime lead to just six points.

The Knights were able to stifle the Dutchmen in the third quarter holding LVC to just 4-of-16 shooting and just nine points. LVC's defense was strong in the period too, allowing only 14 points but Arcadia was able to push their lead up to double-digits with 10 minutes to play.

LVC was firing on all cylinders offensively in the fourth quarter as they shot a staggering 12-of-18 from the field, good for 67% and 25 points. Arcadia had a 23-point outburst in the fourth in large part to shooting 17 free throws in the final frame, knocking down 15 from the charity stripe. A Stabler jumper with 6:17 to play cut the Knight lead to five points but that was as close as LVC would get for the remainder of the contest as Arcadia would knock down clutch free throws to down the Dutchmen, 73-65.

Inside the Numbers
  • Kennedy Kuffa led the Dutchmen with a career-high 20 points. The most of any Dutchmen player this season. She is averaging just under 15 points in her last four games.
  • Daelyn Stabler also recorded a career-high with 18 points on the night.
  • Emily Mealey finished with 15 points and eight rebounds.
  • The Dutchmen scored a season-high 65 points on a season-best 29 made field goals.
  • LVC shot a season-best 46% from the floor, but this was the Dutchmen's first game this season without a made 3-pointer as they went 0-5 from beyond the arc.
  • Arcadia was led by Taylor Dunn who finished with 27 points and was a perfect 15-of-15 from the free throw line.
  • The Knights were 26-of-33 from the line on the night while also shooting 48.9% from the field for the game.
