How It Happened
HERSHEY, Pa. – A pair of goals with just 13 seconds remaining in both the first and second periods helped SUNY Cortland top the Lebanon Valley women's ice hockey team by a 3-0 score on Saturday afternoon.

After each team failed to capitalize on a power play chance in the opening period, the Red Dragons would keep the puck in the Dutchmen defensive end where Amanda Gaffney would get some space and find the back of the net with just 13 ticks to play before the first intermission. Cortland would lead by a goal after 20 minutes of action.

The second period saw more struggles for the Dutchmen offensively as the Red Dragon penalty kill unit was stout all afternoon long and held LVC scoreless in three power play opportunities, including a 5-on-3 situation to keep the score at 1-0. Grace Schnorr would steal the pick late in the period and again with just 13 seconds before the break, Schnorr would find nylon and double the Red Dragon advantage after two periods. Emily King added a tally just 1:38 into the final stanza and the score would remain 3-0 for the final 18:22 of the contest.
