How It Happened
ANNVILLE, Pa. – For the second year in a row, the Dutchmen knock down a buzzer-beating 3-pointer to down York College of Pennsylvania in women's basketball action on Tuesday night. Last year it was
Emily Mealey hitting the dagger, this year Mealey found
Morgan Bamberger who delivered the knockout blow to down the Spartans 56-53. The Dutchmen have won three of four and now sit at 3-3 on the season while the Spartans fall to 3-4.

The Spartans scored 22 points in the third quarter to hold a 43-37 lead with just 10 minutes left in regulation. York would get a 3-pointer by Savannah Wilson to push their lead out to nine points with just over nine minutes to go. With the Dutchmen trailing 48-39 at the 7:51 mark of the fourth quarter, LVC would take off on a 12-2 run to take a 51-50 lead with 1:51 remaining in the contest.

Daelyn Stabler would knock down a jumper from the elbow to pull the Dutchmen ahead with 56 ticks left to play, but the Spartans would answer 13 seconds later on a Kayla Ferris layup and the score was tied again, 53-53. After a Spartan turnover with six seconds to play, Mealey would kick the ball out from the block to the left wing and find an open Bamberger who would knock down the 3-ball with 0.2 seconds to play lifting the Dutchmen to the comeback victory.

The Spartans would lead 14-8 after the opening period as the Spartans hit a pair of triples and closed the period out on a 7-0 run as they held the Dutchmen scoreless for the final 4:18 of the quarter. LVC would battle back in the second as they outscored the Spartans 14-7. The Dutchmen faced their largest deficit of the contest when they trailed 19-8 in the opening minutes of the second period but would finish strong with a 14-2 run to end the half. The Dutchmen defense stifled York in the quarter, holding them scoreless for over six minutes and took a small, 22-21 lead, into halftime.
