How It Happened
HERSHEY, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley women's ice hockey team dropped a 4-1 contest to Post University on a Saturday afternoon in Hersheypark Arena. LVC falls to 0-2 on the season while the Eagles improve to 3-7.
The Dutchmen would get on the scoreboard early as just before the four-minute mark
Olivia Cindrich would steal the pick in the offensive zone and beat a few Eagles defenders before finding the back of the cage for an early 1-0 lead. That score would stand for the remainder of the period.
The second period would be controlled by Post as a majority of the period was played in the Eagles' offensive zone. Post would grab the game-tying goal 42 seconds in the second period off the stick of Madison Turley and the Eagles would not look back. Victoria Paton would add a goal later in the period off a Paige Dundas assist as Post would take the 2-1 lead into the third period.
The third period would go 15:29 without seeing a goal before Catherine Proulx would pick up a big insurance goal for the Eagles to double their lead, 3-1. Jenna Abeyta would add an empty-netter in the final minute of play to put the Dutchmen away as LVC fell 4-1 to the Eagles.
