How It Happened
WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – Lebanon Valley netted a pair of second-quarter goals and never looked back, en route to a 4-1 victory over King's College (Pa.) on Wednesday night in non-conference field hockey action. The Flying Dutchmen won their fifth consecutive game and improved to 7-5, while the Monarchs fell to 5-8.

4:49 into the second quarter, Faith Dinger broke the 0-0 tie after tipping in Danielle Alba's shot into the back of the cage to give LVC a 1-0 lead. Then, in the closing minutes of the quarter, Abbie Keath put one past the Monarchs' goalie, making it 2-0 in favor of the visitors heading into halftime.

In the third quarter, LVC continued to lead by two after neither team could score. In the fourth, the Dutchmen padded their advantage when Hannah Simon scored off an assist from Ashlee Sheibley to all-but put the game out of reach. King's didn't go away quietly and netted its first goal of the game with just over six and a half minutes to go, but with 1:40 remaining in the contest, Hannah Shirey scored the first goal of her young career, off an assist from Sheibley, putting LVC up 4-1.
