How It Happened
ANNVILLE, Pa. – A late Lycoming penalty kick with just over five minutes remaining in regulation would be the lone goal of the contest and lead to a 1-0 loss for the Dutchmen at the hands of the Lycoming Warriors. LVC drops to 7-8-2, 3-3-1 on the season while Lycoming improves to 11-6, 5-2.

Prior to the start of today's game, the Dutchmen celebrated their six seniors, Josiah Selkirk, Noah Campomizzi, Mitch Crane, Tanner Therit, Nathan Moshgat, and Rob Hanosek, on Senior Day at Herbert Field.

The first half was a defensive struggle by either side as well as being played as close to even as possible. In the first 45 minutes of play, both sides had six shots, one on goal, and a pair of corner kicks. LVC was called for six fouls with Lycoming recording seven. The game would head into the intermission scoreless.

The second half was very similar to the first with neither team finding much space on the offensive end. The physicality ramped up as time went on with both teams doing everything they could to try to score and keep the other side off the board. At the 84:12 mark of the second half, Lycoming would be awarded a penalty kick and Tanne Fonjweng would take advantage and capitalize to put the Dutchmen down a goal late in regulation. The Warriors would keep LVC off the scoreboard for the final five minutes and change, downing the Dutchmen 1-0.
