How It Happened
ANNVILLE, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley men's soccer team picked up a huge conference victory over Alvernia by a 3-2 score in extra time. Braydon Shuck's golden goal in the 92nd minute of the game, lifted the Dutchmen over Alvernia as LVC improves to 7-7-2, 3-2-1, on the season while the Golden Wolves fall to 3-11-3, 2-2-1.

The Dutchmen did not wait long to grab an early lead in the contest as LVC drew a penalty kick just 38 seconds into regulation to immediately put pressure on Alvernia. Peter Foerster would have the initial shot saved but would gather his own rebound and find the back of the net to put LVC ahead 1-0 early. Towards the end of the half, Tanner Therit would play a corner kick into the box that would rattle around the box before finding the feet of Alex Weese who would put the ball in the goal to put the Dutchmen ahead, 2-0, with just 3:12 left in the half.

In the second half, Alvernia would get on the board in the 54th minute off a header from Taylor Kauffman. Kauffman was in the center of the penalty box on a free kick by Alvernia from the left wing, the service was long of the goal but headed back across the face by Edwin Navas right to the head of Kauffman who found the right corner of the goal and cut the Dutchmen lead in half. With under two minutes to play, Hunter Martin would shoot a pass across the outside of the box to Braden Kreider who would place the ball in the top-left corner of the goal to score the equalizer and send the game into overtime.

In the overtime, it only took the Dutchmen 1:45 to score the golden goal. Noah Resuta took the ball to the end line to the right of the goal and would play a cutback pass back to the center of the box. Braydon Shuck was on the receiving end of Resuta's pass and would fire a shot to the right corner of the net and finding nylon to give the Dutchmen the huge 3-2 overtime win.
