ANNVILLE, Pa. – Lebanon Valley's men's tennis team took down Eastern University in convincing fashion on Wednesday afternoon in non-conference action. The Flying Dutchmen blanked the Eagles 9-0 and it was LVC head coach
Dave Remsburg's 100th career victory since taking the helm of the program in 2009.
Remsburg, who's in his 11th season as LVC's head coach, has recorded five double-digit win seasons and is yet to miss the MAC Commonwealth postseason tournament.
This afternoon, the Dutchmen made their head coach's life easy and cruised in every single match. LVC got off to a hot start and never looked back, beginning with a 3-0 sweep in doubles action.
Justin Schuetz and
Nicholas Balaci teamed up at the No. 1 spot and blanked Cole Patti and Logan Spinney 8-0, followed by
Ben Hinkley and
Luke Senft's 8-2 victory at the No. 2 position.
Jonathan Yenser and
Brendan Byler then shut out Ryan Kratz and Jacob Craig 8-0 at No. 3 doubles.
LVC's dominance carried over into singles where
Blake Martin cruised past Patti in No. 1 singles play, 6-1, 6-0. Balaci then bageled Spinney 6-0, 6-0 at No. 2 singles, followed by
Reed Morris' dominant 6-2, 6-1 win over Kenneth Samuel at the No. 3 spot.
Ben Hinkley defeated Ryan Kratz 6-2, 6-2 in No. 4 singles play, and Senft won easily against Darren Lopez at No. 5 singles by a score of 6-0, 6-2. Finally,
William Harriger posted the Dutchmen's second bagel of the day with a 6-0, 6-0 victory over Craig at No. 6 singles.
LVC returns to action this weekend at the ITA Regional Tournament, hosted by the University of Mary Washington. The Dutchmen will be in action Oct. 4-6 and will wrap up the fall portion of its schedule on Oct. 12 and 13 at MAC Individuals.
