How It Happened
OWINGS MILLS, Md. – Four different Dutchmen scored and the Lebanon Valley field hockey squad racked up their seventh-straight victory as LVC shut out Stevenson in a 5-0 effort on Saturday evening. The Dutchmen are now 9-5, 4-0 while the Mustangs fall to 5-11, 1-2 on the season.

In the first quarter, the Dutchmen would put immediate pressure on the Stevenson defense as LVC had five penalty corners in the opening minutes of the quarter. The Dutchmen would finally find the back of the net with 7:45 left in the first when Cecile Kat would beat a Mustang defender and give the Dutchmen the early 1-0 lead. In the second, Danielle Alba received a pass from Taylor Pentz off a penalty corner and would find the back of the net to double the LVC lead. Just 1:26 later, Ashlee Sheibley would receive a Taylor Pentz pass and score again and in the blink of an eye the Dutchmen lead 3-0 with just over 10 minutes left in the half. LVC would take the three-goal advantage into halftime.

The Dutchmen would dominate the third period as they would score twice while also not allowing a single shot for the Stevenson offense. Five minutes into the quarter, Kat would score her second goal of the night off Pentz's third assist of the game to extend the lead to four goals. Just over two minutes later, Hannah Simon would join the goal-scoring action with assists to Sheibley and Abbie Keath as LVC opened up a five-goal lead and had complete control of the contest. The Dutchmen would hold that 5-0 score for the fourth quarter and picked up their seventh consecutive win.
