How It Happened
HERSHEY, Pa. – Lebanon Valley dropped a 7-3 decision to Manhattanville thanks to four power-play goals by the Valiants on Saturday night in United Collegiate Hockey Conference (UCHC) and Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) men's ice hockey action. The Dutchmen dropped to 7-10-2, 5-6-2 UCHC, 3-3-1 MAC, while Manhattanville jumped to 9-7-3, 6-4-3 UCHC, 3-1-1 MAC.

The Valiants opened up the scoring this evening when Matt Lippa found the back of the net 4:11 into the opening period. A little over two minutes later, Adam Canepa evened the score with a tally from Bobby Wurster and Tyler Romel, but Kenny McLean netted the first of four power-play goals for Manhattanville two minutes later to take a 2-1 advantage. Then, at 12:20, Brett Johnson continued his special season with a goal from Skyler Pugh and Brad Nolan to tie the game again, this time at 2-2.

Just over six minutes into the second period, Eric Berglund scored on the man-advantage to put the Valiants ahead by one again at 3-2, but then, with the Dutchmen again on the penalty kill, Cole Hepler broke free and netted a short-handed goal from Johnson and Romel to again even the game.

From there, however, Manhattanville opened too big of a lead for LVC to come back from. Nigel slade scored at 14:03 of the second, and the Valiants added three more goals in the third, including two on the power play. The Dutchmen were unable to get back in the game and eventually fell 7-3.
