How It Happened
ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Nazareth netted three unanswered goals to defeat Lebanon Valley 3-1 on Friday night in United Collegiate Hockey Conference (UCHC) men's ice hockey action. The Dutchmen dropped to 7-11-2, 5-7-2 UCHC, while the Golden Flyers jumped to 9-5-6, 6-3-4 UCHC.

LVC got off to a hot start when Adam Canepa found the back of the net just 1:11 into the first period off assists from Brad Nolan and Brett Johnson. The home team evened the score at 6:26 when Alex Corvi scored with Nazareth on the power play and the teams went into the second period knotted at 1-1.

For the majority of the second period, neither team was able to break through and take a lead, but Nazareth finally did with just over four minutes remaining in the period when Brad Pizzey beat Matt Forslund to give the Golden Flyers a narrow lead. Less than a minute later, Carmine Alberga scored an unassisted tally for the home squad to extend Nazareth's advantage to 3-1 heading into the third period.

In the third period, the Dutchmen peppered the Golden Flyers' Sean Kuhn with shots, but the goaltender was up for the tough task and stopped all 12 shots he faced. Forslund was equally as impressive in the final period and stopped all 15 shots he faced, but the damage was already done and LVC eventually fell by a 3-1 margin.
