How It Happened
WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Lycoming scored 47 first-half points en route to a 70-56 win over Lebanon Valley on Wednesday evening in MAC Commonwealth men's basketball action. The Dutchmen slipped to 6-13, 3-7 MAC Commonwealth, while the Warriors jumped to 8-11, 2-8 MAC Commonwealth.
The home team began the game on fire and jumped out to a quick 12-0 advantage with 16:59 to go in the first half. From there, Lyco went up by as many as 19, but the Dutchmen began to slowly crawl back and with 11:34 remaining,
Jeremy Deihm made a layup to bring LVC back to within 13 at 24-11 with 11:34 to go. Deihm then followed it up with another bucket to cut the deficit to 11, but the Warriors answered with a huge run and took a 47-21 lead, their biggest advantage thus far, into halftime.
LVC played much better in the second half, but unfortunately, the Dutchmen were unable to dig out of the huge hole from the first half. At 14:04, LVC faced its largest deficit of the contest when Lyco opened up a 35-point advantage at 60-25. Down the stretch, the Dutchmen were able to cut it to 19 at 66-47 with 2:51 remaining thanks to a 22-6 spurt, but the Warriors were able to hold on comfortably and win 70-56.
Inside the Numbers
- Deihm paced LVC with 12 points and added nine rebounds, barely missing out on the double-double.

Justin Baker finished with 11 points on 5-of-7 shooting and chipped in six rebounds and a pair of assists.

Zach Tucker went for 10 points and four rebounds.

Trevor Covey added six points and four boards.

Jaylen Reichner brought down five rebounds for the Dutchmen.
- Calvin Chandler led Lyco with a game-high 24 points, including 20 in the first half.
- Matt Ilodigwe and Darius Dangerfield each scored 17 for the Warriors.
- Lyco held a slight edge in total field-goal percentage at 35.3-percent to 33.9-percent.
- The two teams were even in second-chance points at 10-10.
- LVC's bench outscored Lyco's 13-6.
- The Dutchmen dominated in points in the paint at 26-8.
- LVC also held the edge in fast-break points at 10-3.

The Dutchmen look to get back on track on Wednesday, Jan. 30 when LVC plays host to Widener at 8 p.m.
